The Service Advisor/Writer acts as the liaison between our customers and the service department, ensuring a seamless experience from the moment a customer arrives until their vehicle is returned. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a deep understanding of automotive maintenance, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Interaction: Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, listen to their concerns, and clearly communicate their needs to the service team.
- Service Documentation: Prepare detailed work orders for service technicians that incorporate customer concerns and desired repairs or services.
- Estimate Preparation: Provide accurate estimates for maintenance and repair services based on an initial discussion with the customer and inspection results.
- Upselling and Recommendations: Advise customers on additional services and repairs that may be necessary or beneficial for their vehicle’s health and performance.
- Customer Updates: Keep customers informed of their vehicle's status, including changes to cost or time estimates, and any additional work required.
- Appointment Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule service appointments efficiently to maximize time and resource utilization.
- Payment Processing: Handle payments, insurance billing, and warranty work, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Customer Service: Resolve customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally, ensuring high customer satisfaction and trust.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in automotive services is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Service Adviser/Writer or in a similar role within the automotive industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and repairs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using computer systems and automotive software for data entry and management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A valid driver's license is required.
